Monday's Morning Announcements

Morning Announcements: Monday, May 4th, 2020

Good Morning Bobcats!!!

Today is National Orange Juice Day!  On May 4th National Orange Juice Day recognizes America’s most popular breakfast drink. Orange juice holds a large margin over second-place apple juice, too. People have been waking up to a glass of orange juice for many years and enjoying the health benefits it gives them.  So, what are you waiting for?  Go grab your glass of OJ for the day!

How many of you could say goodbye to your computers, your TV’s, your phones, or your games for just one day?  I bet if you really tried, you COULD do it!  This first week in May is known as Screen Free Week.  This week encourages everyone to unplug and re-engage with those around us.  Throughout the week, take time away from the electronics and focus on the more organic things in life.  Find out more at www.screenfree.org.  Use #ScreenfreeWeek to share on social media.  Try giving up just ONE day and I guarantee you’ll be glad you did!

This week is also National Teacher Appreciation Week!  Can you think of ways to “THANK” your teachers?  Visit www.pta.org for ways to thank a teacher. From Amazing to Zealous and every adjective in between, use all your adjectives to describe how terrific your teachers are or were by using #TeacherAppreciationWeek on social media.

What a great week to let them know you appreciate them and everything they do for you!

Interesting Facts of the Day:  Did you know the average cell phone has 19 times more bacteria than a toilet handle. Oh, and more people in the world have a cell phone than a toilet.

Joke of the Day:   Today’s joke is being brought to you by Mrs. Christiansen, our Student Council Leader.

Q :  Why was the cell phone wearing glasses?

A:  He lost his contacts!

The COU Student Council would like to hear some good jokes!  If you have a good joke you’d like to share, submit them to Mrs. Christiansen’s email address:  bchristiansen@co-u.net and we will share them with everyone in our morning announcements and you’ll get the credit!

That’s all for today.  Remember stay safe and stay healthy!  Look for our morning announcements everyday until the end of the school year!
