Morning Announcements

Morning Announcements: Monday, May 18th, 2020         Good Morning Bobcats!!!

Today is National Visit Your Relatives Day.  It encourages family members to stay connected. Our hectic lives make it easy to get so caught up in the busyness of today’s fast-paced lifestyle. We often lose touch with our relatives. Today reminds us to stop for a moment, take some much-needed time and visit those relatives we care about and have not seen or spoken to for a while.  A visit can be a phone call or a face-to-face live chat on the computer.  With today’s technology and this pandemic we are currently in, we are now able to communicate with loved ones living far away, yet seeing them as if they are right beside us.  Life is much too short not to make time for family.

This week is also known as National EMS Week.  (Emergency Medical Services Week)

We would like to thank these dedicated first responders who provide immediate care during a health crisis.  Whether there is an accident or an illness, these trained professionals work around the clock to make sure care is available quickly.  Keeping up with the latest training ensures they know the most effective life-saving emergency treatments.  EMS practitioners are professionals of the highest caliber.  Hats off to these great professionals!

Interesting Fact of the Day: Did you know that currently only about 51% of all adults in the United States are married?  But back in 1960 about 72% of Americans were married.  Hmmmm, what’s happening?

Joke of the Day:  A mom texts her son and asks, “Hi, Son, what does IDK, LY, and TTLY means?  The son texts her back, “I don’t know, love you, and talk to you later.”  The mom texts him back and says, “It’s OK, don’t worry about it.  I’ll text your sister and see if she knows, and I love you too.”

Are you a 5th, 6th, or 7th grader this year and would like to be a part of this FUN Student Council group?  If so, fill out the forms that were in your last packet to become a member of the COU Student Council for next year!  They need to be returned by May 28th.  We’d love to have you!

The 2019-2020 Yearbooks have arrived!  IF you ordered a yearbook throughout the year, they are in!  There is a limited supply left to purchase.  If you missed out throughout the year and would still like a copy reserved for you, please contact Mrs. Christiansen at bchristiansen@co-u.net .  These will be on a first contact basis until they are gone.  The cost is $25.  Thank you!

Do you need something FUN to do this week?  Well, wait no longer, the COU Student Council will be sponsoring a “Where’s Bobby the Bobcat?” Scavenger Hunt.  It’s kind of like a “Where’s Waldo” kind of thing.  That’s right, everyday they will be hiding a Flat Bobby the Bobcat figure in your hometowns of Charter Oak, Ute, and Soldier.  When you find him, take your picture next to Bobby and post it on Facebook or send it to Mrs. Christiansen and watch for him to move to a new location the next day and so on.  DON’T move Bobby or the game will end.  We will let you know what day we will be starting this!  Hopefully by the end of the week!

That’s all for today.  Remember stay safe and stay healthy!  Look for our morning announcements everyday until the end of the school year!
