May 20, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, Community Members and Students of Charter Oak-Ute,

The end of the school year is quickly approaching.  The last regular school day for this year would have been May 28th if we were operating on a normal basis outside of this pandemic.  I know this is not the easiest thing we have ever dealt with, but I am proud of how we have handled ourselves and dealt with the adversity.  I miss seeing everyone and greeting students and staff everyday.

We will have personal item pickup on two days next week.  The first day will be May 26th from 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  I ask that any parents of students in grades Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd come and pickup your stuff.  On May 28th I ask that students in grades 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th come pickup your belongings from 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. If you have students in several grades, come at your youngest students time and we will get you all of your students belongings.

This will work in much of the same fashion as instructional material pickup.  You will drive up, or come to the South doors of the cafeteria edition, which is where the busses load and unload.  I ASK THAT YOU ENTER THE FACILITY ON THE NORTH EAST CORNER OF OUR LOT, WHICH IS AT THE CORNER OF 3RD STREET AND OAK AVE.  Please pull up and a staff member will be there to assist you.  We will ask for your student(s) grades and names.  At this point we will relay the message and we will get your things brought out to you.  We have all the belongings in bags and we will give them to you or place them in your vehicle for you.

Junior High students, if you have items in sports lockers, please contact Mr. Eggeling by email (aeggeling@co-u.net) or by phone (712-269-8178) and we will get those items out for you and they will be placed in your bags.

Lastly, if you have any school issued equipment we will want it returned at this time.  This includes, but is not limited to, computers, chargers, library books, and text books.  Please have all these items for us and we will get them from you.

If for some reason this will not work, please get ahold of Mr. Eggeling to make other arrangements.  It is critical that we make this work so we can get your belongings, and we can receive the schools equipment back in order to get it ready for next school year.

Thank you very much, and we will see you next week!  We have missed you all and look forward to the time when we all can be back together!  Have a great summer and stay safe!

Yours in Education,

Adam Eggeling Superintendent/PK-8 Principal Charter Oak-Ute CSD
