The JH Boys faced a tough opponent on Tuesday afternoon. It was a hard fought game against the LOMA Panthers with CO-U coming up a little short this time. 2 games were played, the first ending with a close score of LOMA-18 COU- 17 and the second concluding with a final score of LOMA-41 COU-27. It's time for our weekly Staff Spotlight, where we take time to introduce one of our amazing staff members to you, our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little better. Today we introduce the wonderful, Mrs. Paula Harris, aka “Ms. Paula”.
She is a friendly face that greets all who arrive, she is our Elementary Secretary. This is her 5th year at Charter Oak- Ute. She began her career here as a Para-educator, which she did for 3 years, following that she took over as Elementary Secretary/Van Driver, which she continues to do today.
The things she loves most about working here are the friendships she has built with her coworkers, also getting to know all the students in school and seeing them become amazing young adults.
Advice she would give to those just starting their career here is “Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everyone here is willing to help you find an answer. We’re all here to learn.” When visiting the lunchroom she says her favorite school meal growing up was Potato Bar but now she really enjoys Walking Tacos.
After school hours she states she enjoys spending time with family, which includes her husband Rob and their 12 year old fur baby named Willa. Besides her family, she enjoys going to the movies, painting, gaming and spending time with friends.

It's time for our weekly Staff Spotlight, where we take time to introduce one of our amazing staff members to you, our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little better. Today we introduce the wonderful, Mrs. Shelley Stallons. The beautiful melodies coming from her classroom can often be heard ringing through the halls. She is our dedicated Choir and Band teacher.
Shelley has been a member of the CO-U faculty since 2006! 17 years of harmonies, hard work and happiness. When she first began her career here, Shelley used to teach only band but has since branched out and now does both vocal and band. The thing that she loves most about working at CO-U are the kids.
Advice she would give to those just starting their career here is to “Enjoy being in a district where everyone knows you and cares.” When stopping by the cafeteria, she says her favorite meal is spaghetti.
After school hours she states she enjoys spending time with family, which includes her husband of 36 years, her 31 year old son and 24 year old daughter. Besides her family, she enjoys reading, journaling and cleaning.
